Pictures of flowers from bud through full bloom and on to dried seed heads. I urge you to view these in larger sizes, preferably full screen, as in a slideshow. They make a great pick-me-up when I'm feeling blue, viewed that way. Enjoy!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of fantastic flowers, collected from fellow muggers, with just a few of my own. I hope they will encourage you to visit the original galleries and to explore further the images of the talented photographers whose works they are. (To all of those muggers who have enabled the collection feature in their galleries, "Thanks for letting us share your creations!")

A further big thank you to all muggers who by caption, gallery title, or keywords, make it possible to locate their pictures in searches.

02.05.12 - Cowslips

This is an example of why I always carry my camera with me. I'd had the most frustrating day, not a lot went right, then on my way home I saw a flash of colour in a small churchyard to my left. There was one small clump of Cowslips in the middle of the lawn, with another small patch of bluebells a few yards behind. I actually kept walking because I just wanted to get home, but something made me slow down, stop, get my camera out and go back. I'm glad I did. Just the act of slowing down and taking a few pics helped clear my head and put my frustrations in perspective.

Thanks for the comments on my "levee shot" yesterday. A few people spotted the song reference, but it was Led Zeppelin rather than Don McClean that was going through my head at the time :)
Never had seen a white Bleeding Heart before.
Still closed up before the sun works it's magic.
04/19/12 - Another Day Another Flower

My Blog: http://maryanng.blogspot.com/2012/04/another-day-another-flower.html

A flower shot taken in my neighbor Judy's yard this morning. I didn't have a chance to take many shots yesterday due to work and clouds, so I was out again this AM trying.

Here's the original for comparison which I punched up due to the low light and clouds this morning too. Hopefully it doesn't shout pp'ed and you like the more saturated color and stronger detail.

I'm monitoring the Mountain Laurel that's not too far from my house. In another couple of days, with some sun, there's a POTD coming!

The Mountain Laurel blooms alongside Middle (or is it Black) Creek.

Johnny's Little League team, the Ironbirds, won their game last night although I don't think Johnny himself field the ball or made any hits. Still, it was an exciting high scoring game for his team. Before the game, they did pictures. I bought a team shot from TSS Photography but couldn't help but sneak in this shot of the team myself too. Johnny is the child looking at me:-)

Thanks for all your comments on my colorful iris shot. There were azaleas behind the iris.
