Bird Man with Swans
I met this very nice, friendly birder in the park. He was tossing out shelled corn to the swans and ducks. He seemed to know some of the trumpeters individually, having watched one particular pair breed (as in raise a brood) locally on a small lake close to this stretch of the river. And the swans seemed familiar and even friendly with him. His obvious happiness at being out on a gorgeous winter day and interacting with the beautiful birds was infectious. I wanted to remember this pleasant chance encounter in the form of a Daily Photo

(Info for those of you who particularly like swans and swan photos. I'll eventually post more of the shots I took during this outing in my general swans gallery, http://arctangent.smugmug.com/Birds/Birds-Waterfowl1-Swans/5655185_xzcB2w) - arctangent's Photos
I'm hoping to use this gallery to challenge myself to learn something every day about seeing the world, photographing it, expressing myself through photos, and enjoying the works of other photographers. It will test my self-discipline. I won't even pretend that I'll take a picture every single day, but I will try to process one each day. Critiques are welcomed, and even encouraged. If you make a suggestion for altering one of my posts, to this or any other gallery, and I can act on it (short of retaking the shot), I'll try to respond and post the altered versions in a new 'Take Your Pick' gallery here: http://arctangent.smugmug.com/Photography/Take-Your-Pick/27975689_qs5bJs
