Accidental leaf alignment
DP280-2013 Posted October 7; processed October 6.
These sassafras leaves just happened to 'stack' exactly as you see them. They were all still attached to their respective trees except for the small green mitten near the rear, which had fallen, probably during the previous day's rain, and stuck to its landing site. I'm constantly amazed at the range of colors dispayed by sassafras leaves in autumn. I especially love the purples and pinks. As to leaf texture, they might look tough and leathery. The truth is quite different. They are incredibly supple and smooth to the touch.

I've divided my older DailyPhotos posts into smaller galleries, numbered from oldest (#1) to newest. Each is sorted each in descending order of upload, which is the same as order of posting date. As I accumulate posts, I'll keep adding new "old' galleries for as long as smugmug enables legacy users such as myself to link galleries to the DailyPhotos community.
