In this gallery I've somewhat arbitrarily grouped plants with palm-like leaves. Plants of the families Arecaceae, Cycadaceae, and Zamiaceae predominate.

For me, a great deal of the visual appeal is in the patterns created by the foliage of these plants in various lighting conditions.

Note added November, 2012:  Sadly this specimen is now gone.  It and many of the other large specimens in the Tropical House have been removed or severely cut back in a massive 're-do' of that space.
