Yellow tulips and blue-violet grape hyacinths ... a delicious color combination, but both flowers were over the hill by the time I saw them.

This gallery celebrates one of the most photogenic of all flowers, the tulip. Where I live they are popular as forced blooms in the spring, and as outdoor plantings that succeed crocus, daffodils, and jonquils in bringing color to the previously dull landscapes of late winter.
The most recently processed pictures of tulips will go here directly, while my older uploads will simply be collected here. I make no pretense of trying to identify individual varieties of tulips. I just enjoy them for their shapes and colors, and the satiny texture of their petals.
