NaturePhotographers > arctangent  > Nature > Four Seasons > 2012 Fall - Turn Turn Turn
Whose turn is it to turn today? A chronicle of the progression of changes in the natural world from September through November (the months that comprise the climatological season of Fall or Autumn in the upper midwest).

I'll try to confine the images to sights seen only at this time of year. While the weather remains warm, flowers and vegetables continue to grow as though the fall is an extension of summer. I don't consider them to be seasonal sights. There are separate galleries for garden flowers and for fruits and vegetables throughout the year. There will be a certain amount of overlap between those galleries and this one.

As suprising as it was to see a tree blooming in mid-November in Michigan, it was even more surprising to me to see a tiny fly visiting the blooms.

Seeing a tree in full bloom this time of year, when all the leaves have fallen from this and almost every other tree, is a wonderful surprise.

(Located in the shady woodland gardens, just east of the pond gazebo. This grouping, as with every other grouping of fallen leaves that I photograph, is exactly as I found it, 100% natural and ungroomed.)
D309-2012 Leaf of a tulip tree that that had fallen near an Asian maple that I was photographing. Its rich color caught my eye.
