Art in Nature : Images of things in nature that focus on some aspect of visual appeal that goes beyond mere recording of the normal view of the objects or scenes in question. 'Art' is used here is a rather loose sense, in the sense that a certain amount of imagination was required to produce the images, and more imagination still on the part of the viewer to see what I saw; and in the sense that there is a certain aesthetic quality to the result. These are very subjective choices, of course.

Frameworks - practicing the art of icing nature's cakes : Not everyone likes to see photos with digital frames. But most people prefer frames for the art they hang on their walls. I'm ambivalent about it myself at times. But I like to try different things, and I'm at the very bottom of the learning curve when it comes to adding 'frames' to my pictures. I've decided to upload some alternative framed versions of some of my images here, and collect others for which I have only uploaded a framed version. I very possibly will keep tinkering with the presentation of particular shots, trying to see how different frames, etc., affect my own reaction to the basic pictures. I'm hoping that by viewing a lot of my efforts side by side, I can get a sense of whether I'm learning from earlier mistakes and lapses of taste (and there certainly are some of those!) I decided to keep the bad and the ugly along with the good. Maybe the latter will motivate me to go back and correct some of those paste gaffs. Your reactions, pro and con, and your suggestions for improvements or for different things to try, are welcome.
