I've taken pictures of the beautiful things I find in nature all of my adult life. Virtually everything in nature interests me, from grand landscapes to the tiniest detail, though I don't possess the equipment needed for macro photography or the big lenses for 'shooting' animals in the wild. Beyond the visual appeal, I'm drawn to things which illustrate, or raise questions about, most things scientific. Biology, geology, meteorology, astronomy, physics, you name it. I also find interest in man-made things that show strange, beautiful, unexpected, evocative shapes, patterns, colors. I look for these same things in the pictures other people take, and always appreciate whimsy, humor, back-references in them when I find it. And I look for pictures that require a technical expertise that lies beyond my grasp.

I take a few pictures of people that I'm willing to share, but mostly I enjoy looking at people pictures that others take. I prefer candid to posed shots.

Like most people, I love to travel, so I always look for pictures of places I've been and places I hope to see, or even places I can only dream of seeing.

As I browse through the various photo hosting sites that I regularly visit, I often discover interests I didn't even know I had...new subjects, new ways of depicting, new places...
