The new owners promptly demolished the house after purchasing the property, and seem to have no plans to rebuild on it, which is odd considering the current property values for prime lakefront property these days. All that is now left of Laura's house is the old fieldstone chimney and the decorative paving stones of the two terraces (down the hill toward the lake). The side yard of one of the neighbors, adjacent to Laura's former lot (not empty) There were a number to quintessentially spring blooms in the yard, including many seen here: violets, grape hyacinth, hellebore, bleeding hearts, and dogwood.
