Sidecut Metro Park lies along the north bank of the Maumee River, just east of highway US 23, at its intersection with highway US 24. Its name refers to 19th century canals along the river at this point. Islands in the Maumee River at this point, with restricted access, make the area a great place for bird watching.
Maumee River, looking eastward (downstream) from Sidecut Metro Park. The tree line on the far side of the ice-lined open water marks one of the numerous islands in the river at this point.
The temperature was only ~ 12 F ( -11 C), and I was the only one out on the trail, but it really wasn't uncomfortable.
