Impressionism : These are pictures that remind me of the paintings of Monet and his fellow Impressionists. Literal reality has been altered by nature (not by me) in some way to highlight the emotional or intellectual content of the scene, or make the viewer think differently about it. The first batch of pictures, reflections in a pond, belong to a group of my pictures that I refer to as "Monet Cliche's", but not because of any comparison I draw between the relative artistic merit of Monet's paintings and my photographs!

Decay - it's universal : Change is an inevitable process in all things natural or man made. Birth, growth, rebirth are celebrated, but they can't occur with out their opposites ... decline, decay, death. There is beauty to be found in these supposedly negative changes. Pictures in this gallery try to capture that aspect. It's an open-ended collection; I'll be adding to it continually. Please keep checking back if you like what you see.
