arctangent > Three balloons landing nearly simultaneously, ourselves and two others. We're almost on the ground at this point. What a fantastic way to start the day!

In the distance, to the southwest, is Elmersville and (unseen) Red Rock Loop Road. I've made my best guess for our actual landing site, and map tagged it.

arctangent > Sinking behind a ridge.

The shadow of our balloon, including gondola, lies along the right side of the picture. It is truncated by a slightly nearer ridge.

arctangent > Casting a shadow...swinging low.

If you look very closely near the center of the photo, to the left of the balloon, you'll see just a tiny glimpse of another balloon that has already landed.

arctangent > Hovering...

This balloon will actually rise up and cross over the ridge at the top of the picture before settling to ground. It will land nearly the same time we do, slightly to the west of us.

arctangent > Elmersville in the distance.

The view is almost due south. Between the buildings and roads of Elmersville is a faint ribbon of Red Rock Loop Rd., and the landing site adjacent to the road of the first balloon that came down. The whitish strip running left to right, about level with the balloon is 'Old 79 Tank'.

arctangent > Everyone coming down at once.

Note that across the road the first balloon down is now completely deflated and ready to be rolled up, bagged, and loaded onto the trailer.
