Storage tanks adjacent to the aerospace engineering wind tunnel in the Gorguze Family building.
I'll have to go back to this site and devise a way to incorporate something to give a size perspective to these tanks. They're on the order of three feet in diameter, at a guess.

I have no idea whether they store compressed air, or some other substance. If anyone out there knows the engineering behind wind tunnels, I'd love to hear from them.
Quite apart from the function of the tanks, this scene interested me on a number of levels. There is the obvious contrast in curved and rectangular shapes. And the transformation of white into both yellow and blue gray in the same shot. Other shots of these tanks in direct light, not shadows and reflected light, show their blazing white color. Not least, there is the beauty to be found in such functional objects.

Time (or man over the course of time) has been kinder to one of these buildings than to the other.

The leaves of this plant are fascinating to me. I can't help wondering what drives the variation in cell width, what causes all the minor irregularities in a pattern that has gross regularity. And why the variations between dark and light sections? The leaves are like giant bar codes, or ancient stick writing.

Dazzling!
A late afternoon sun caused nearly blinding reflections from the lake's icy surface.
