The original, ca. 1874, gate plus flanking gatekeeper's house (left) and sexton's house. Observatory road runs slightly downhill, left to right, at this point, which creates the illusion that the photo is not level. I've done my best to level it on the architectural features, though. The main gate, built 1874, flanked by two pedestrian gates. None of the three remains in use. Instead, all ingress and egress is through a later side gate immediately north of the office (formerly the gatekeeper's house). Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan April 21, 2012
