An Oldie, but a Goodie
Spirea or Spiraea. This is the old-fashioned variety affectionately known by human oldies as Bridal Wreath.

These shrubs resemble pictures of Spiraea × vanhouttei, but I can't claim to know for certain what variety the pictured shrubs belong to.

On this day, the bushes all appeared, at a distance, to be in full bloom. Up close, one could still find unopened buds.

Spiraea inflorescences are variously described as dense panicles, umbrella-like corymbs, or grape-like clusters. Each individual blossom in the cluster has five-fold radial symmetry apart for the stamens which, always numerous, vary in number and arrangement. The small dark anthers are borne on long filaments, giving the blossoms a freckled appearance.

Family Rosaceae Native to the Northern Hemisphere.

The cemetery was awash in white spiraea bushes. They seemed in keeping with the old-fashioned feel of the cemetery layout and the park-like atmosphere.

There are many varieties (species, hybrids, cultivars) of this genus that are grown as ornamental plants, mostly shrubs. These shrubs resemble pictures of Spiraea × vanhouttei, but I can't claim to know for certain what variety the pictured shrubs belong to. That variety sometimes is described as 'old-fashioned spiraea', or Bridal Wreath, to invoke the old-fashioned common name for it.

I like to see this shrub pruned, as here, leaving some long branches that arc and even droop down to the ground.

There are many years when blooms on a mature spiraea bush can be rather sparse. This was not one of them. This is possibly Spiraea x vanhouttei or 'Bridal Wreath'.
