D194-2012 Real vs. surreal.  The pink and blue star bursts are, as nearly as I could tell, dried seed heads of allium (probably) that had been painted in what to me look like unreal colors.  A different shot shows paint on surrounding foliage, so they were apparently painted in situ.  

I present this for its oddity, not because I'm a fan of the effect.
