There are pro's and con's to visiting the peony garden in the early morning. If you like capturing blooms that are drenched in dew, it's a good time.
This cultivar is a product of the French breeder in the late 19th century, Calot (1883). It doesn't pretend to be anything other than what you see here, an exquisite pure pink double form bloom that delights the eye, with or without dew.
