All forms of asarum that are cultivated in gardens are done so almost exclusively for the foliage, as ground covers. Asarum canadense has large velvety leaves. Bright orange bracket or shelf fungus growing on a log of a sawn up tree. From the orientation of the 'brackets' relative to the log I deduce that the fungus grew there after the tree was felled and cut up into logs.
