I'm just starting to process all the lilac shots I got yesterday (May 16). Here, of the few I have processed, was my second choice for a DailyPhotos post: http://smu.gs/111ldq2
D136-2013 Lilacs
White and pink blossoms against the deep blue sky. I couldn't get enough of the views or the aromas.

D136-2013 Lilacs
Pale pink is one of the more unusual colors for lilacs, seen less often even than white varieties.

Curiouser and curiouser (I don't think Alice knows.)

I believe this is a cluster of mushrooms before they have grown their caps. If anyone can add to or amend this supposition, I'd appreciate the info. Here is a link to a picture of the type of mushroom I think it might be, when it grows up. http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/gallery/loadimage.asp?did=19772&blockName=Hypsizygus%20tessulatus

(For those curious about the lighting, it's all natural. The light came through the glass roof of the conservatory, through an opening in the foliage of taller plants in the Tropical House portion of the conservatory. I under-exposed a little, adjusted the white point in Lightroom 4 and darkened the background a little in Photoshop with the Levels slider, and that was pretty much it.)

D088-2013 Crocus
These were some of the few I've seen blooming around town. Normally by this date, crocuses would have bloomed pretty much completely and be on their way out.

D088-2013 Snowdrops, Galanthus nivalis (Common snowdrop)
Family Amaryllidaceae

I added a layer of sumi-e filter to this version of the shot. See a differently filtered version as my April 4 post to the DailyPhotos community here: http://smu.gs/14PxhlK

Yulan Magnolia, Magnolia denudata

This shot shows as clearly as possible that the blossoms of this variety are a rich creamy color, not a bright white.
