Detail, Canary Island Spurge, closer crop
D044-2017 Canary Island Spurge, Euphorbia #16
This shot shows that the spines on new growth are brown, with even darker tips. As they age, they gradually become bleached of color, with the color in the tips persisting after the color in the bulk of the spines is long gone.
This is a second crop, AR 2x3, of the upper left portion of the shot, meant to illustrate the color change more easily.
