Oh what a beauty! I LOVE the red. My granddaughter and I many years ago planted an Amaryllis together. It bloomed for many years, and we loved them. Unfortunately, Bill was (he thought) spreading ant bait, but he was spreading some kind of weed poisoning that was indiscriminate. The Amaryllis is no longer and one of our Bradford Pear Trees (after about 10 years) is probably going to succumb to that long ago poisoning. Sigh. Thank you so much for your very thoughtful comment on my Stone Stallion photo today. I loved your observations. Yes, I had heard of the cyclones that hit Africa and it made me sad to think of the devastation and ruin in a country where they have little to no ability to recover. I believe (maybe in a Polly-Anna way) that the embullient spirit of the people and the artists there will not only survive, but flourish in the wake of the tragedy.
