Mediterranean #13 - Rethymnon harbor
Our port of call for Crete was Rethymnon (or Rethymno) on the island's north coast. I lay roughly half-way between the two day trip destinations available to the tour members, namely Chania (Hania) and Knossos (with Heraklion or Iraklio). When we docked in the morning, the weather was poor, heavily overcast with scattered showers. That pattern persisted through the morning, for our visit to Knossos, but by afternoon Rethymnon lay in bright sunlight, while clouds still hung over the hills to the south.
