Frameworks - practicing the art of icing nature's cakes
Not everyone likes to see photos with digital frames. But most people prefer frames for the art they hang on their walls. I'm ambivalent about it myself at times. But I like to try different things, to see whether adding a frame changes my perception of the subject, and hopefully enhances it. I've decided to upload some alternative framed versions of some of my images here, and collect others for which I have only uploaded a framed version.
I'm hoping that by viewing a lot of my efforts side by side, I can get a sense of whether I'm learning from earlier mistakes and lapses of taste (and there certainly are some of those!) I decided to keep the bad and the ugly along with the good. Maybe the latter will motivate me to go back and correct some of those paste gaffs.
Your reactions, pro and con, and your suggestions for improvements or for different things to try, are welcome. Also, if you'd like to see an unframed version of any of these shots, and I haven't indicated in the caption where there might already be an uploaded version, just email me (see my profile for my email address).
