MS G07 11 View from the southern side of the House of Eustolios, looking out to the sea (mapped)
MS G07 11
Kourion, Cyprus, with sites that date from the Hellenistic period through Roman times.
The house of Eustolios, a Roman carpet merchant. He shared his riches by constructing public baths with beautiful mosaic floors. The roof over the excavations allows visitors to enjoy the spectacular views of the sea and the surrounding country, and even the sea breezes, without suffering the blinding light or the heat of the sun (or the rare rain that falls). Eustolios chose his site well!
