BW version of a shot of Galápagos prickly pear (Opuntia echios) and Holy Wood trees, aka Palo Santo, (Bursera graveolens) that form virtual forests over the slopes of the island.

I don't often post BW images to my DailyPhotos gallery, mostly because I'm not confident of my skills in carrying out the conversions. Usually I'm disappointed in the results. But the starkness of the scenes - virtually duotone red and green - in the color version, as in real life, begged for me at least to make the attempt. If you compare this with the color version ( http://smu.gs/1icd9RE ), you'll see that I darkened the reds and brightened the greens in my conversion. I haven't yet tried doing it the other way around.
