River Traffic - Columbia River, Oregon (mapped)
DP017-2016 Posted Sunday, January 17
Two kinds of river traffic, namely boats and ships, and animals, mostly birds. Here a cormorant and a gull both turn their backs to the commercial and industrial (dredging) activity behind them.
There was an entire line of these tall metal posts parallel to the shore, just off the dock at the Maritime Museum. I have map tagged the approximate location of this one.
In case anyone is wondering, this is a single shot. I did not, for example, paste the gull into the shot. For a shot of this cormorant in a more easterly direction, showing some of the southern shoreline, see here: https://arctangent.smugmug.com/LocationsUSAstates/Oregon/Astoria-and-nearby/i-Xd2dgtW/A
